NetPay Release The Next Generation of Terminals
We started the New Year with an ongoing focus on developing, building and releasing a new product portfolio throughout 2021, concentrating on delivering market-leading benefits to our merchant customers and partners. We have kicked things off with the forthcoming release of the next generation of payment terminal with pre-loaded business apps; with the aim to help our merchants to bounce back after the numerous challenges businesses have faced during the pandemic.
In collaboration with PAX Technology, a global payment terminal manufacturer delivering over 57 million terminals to more than 120 countries; NetPay alongside its acquirer partner and shareholder Fiserv is one of the first UK ISO’s to certify these state-of-the-art Android OS-based devices. Together we want to help merchants drive business recovery after COVID-19 lockdown and to enhance their customers’ experience wherever transactions take place.
The PAX A920 is a powerful, easy-to-use payment terminal with a modern, stylish design. It has a large, full colour touch-enabled display and powerful, faster Wi-Fi that many other contemporary payment devices. It also has a built in 3G/4G connectivity to support ‘off-site’ transactions and to provide back-up during Wi-Fi outages. The A920 supports Chip & PIN plus contactless payments via cards and through smartphone apps such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. A built-in printer supports the printing of receipts and a large rechargeable main battery supports full-shift operations.
There are no physical buttons or keys on the A920, so all inputs are entered onto the touchscreen including cardholder PIN entry which is done securely through PIN-on-glass technology. This function has been enhanced to improve accessibility and was approved by the RNIB in 2020.
The clean design and sealed touchscreen of the A920 make it much easier to apply regular device hygiene routines and offers much greater protection from being frequently wiped down during these unprecedented times. Cleaning guidelines are available on the PAX website.
The Android operating system on the A-Series is an increasingly prevalent platform supported by the leading payment terminal manufacturers. These devices can benefit from the addition of carefully approved business applications – including integrated EPOS – available to be deployed onto the device, and from the additional support capabilities via remotely accessed status and operational functionality. These allow technical support teams to manage and update devices as required and to remotely assist merchants with any issues that may occur, reducing downtime and also the need for an on-site engineer to visit.
The PAX A-series family of terminals are designed to provide fast, dependable transaction and payment services. NetPay will initially release the market-leading PAX A920 with payments and a loyalty app on the device as standard, followed soon after by both the A80 and A50 to help merchants drive business recovery and to enhance their customers’ experience.
The PAX A920 is a powerful business tool that can speed up and boost sales inside or outside, improve the shopping or dining experience and increase customers’ loyalty; with the Fiserv-approved PAX A920, from NetPay Merchant Services.
