This is an exciting opportunity to be one of the key team members of NetPay Solutions Group, the business bringing revolution to the global card payments industry focusing on system innovation and service excellence delivering solutions across its merchant services and technologi divisions. The business is looking to broaden its team to incorporate a legal counsel to support its continued growth and capitalise on the considerable opportunity the business is presented with.

Position Summary

We are looking for in-house legal counsel/advisor to support our high growth FinTech business. Various levels of commercial experience will be considered. The individual will support the continued expansion of the business providing commercial contract advice, support in the protection of our intellectual property, support with corporate development/acquisitions and general legal support to the wider organisation. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about progress and supporting the organisation reach its full potential as part of the legal support they provide.

Job Description

  • Working principally on commercial contracts with our customers and suppliers as well as providing top level legal advice to the board.
  • Reviewing and providing comments and suggesting changes on various agreements in order to protect the interests of the company.
  • Drafting various contracts as per the requirements of the business.
  • Working with the other parties to negotiate and finalise drafts.
  • Requirement to analyse agreements capturing key points and legal issues and presenting balanced risk reviews and options to the board.
  • A necessity to be commercially focused mixing legal requirements with the necessity for the organisation to progress and do business.
  • Liaise with various departments to formulate aspects of agreements where there is an obligation on their area of the business.
  • Highlight supplier commitments to the various departments of the business for the purpose of monitoring our supplier’s performance against their contractual obligations.
  • Provide general risk management advice to the board and management team as and when required.
  • Necessity to review potential legal obligations and formulate agreements with local counsel for business done in other countries outside of the UK.
  • Conduct research as and when required on the various point of law and regulatory aspects that might impact the business.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience within a commercial environment required.
  • Excellent legal analytical ability.
  • Well-structured and organised able to prioritise work and deliver upon commitments and requirements of the business.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work with a variety of different people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency and experience in legal drafting and reviewing.
