NetPay’s first organised Charity Day of 2020 was yesterday on February 21 – this was a charity bake sale for Cancer Research. In 2019 we raised £884.51. We raised this great total through various charity events last year, but we feel we can do way better than that. We want to go above and beyond last year’s charity total.
The charities that we will be donating to this year are Cancer Research UK and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, this is as well as supporting yearly charity events such as Children in Need, Remembrance Day and Red Nose Day.
To choose the charities for 2020 an email was sent out to everyone describing that we wanted to choose certain charities to donate this year (one national and one local charity), this also asked the whole team if they would send in ideas for charities to our HR Manager – Emily Jay. Emily then reviewed all the charities and decided which we would choose.
On 21 February we had a dress down day for the team. This was optional but if you chose to then you donated at least £1 to charity. We also oranised a cake sale. We let staff know that this day would be a cake sale and asked if people would kindly bake or buy cakes for this. They were then placed in the kitchen and a donation for each cake was requested. This was a great success; the team enjoyed the cakes (especially the Rocky Road – baked by Lindsey from Customer Service) and we managed to raise a grand total of £114.80 that was donated to Cancer Research UK. More information on Cancer Research UK can be found at – https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/
We do not currently have another charity event scheduled in the calendar but stay tuned as we will soon have something amazing organised soon. The first charity day of the year was a great success, so here’s to the rest of our charity days over the course of this year being as successful!
